This 2010 Trinity model PS27:1 bat dates from Gonzalez’s final season in San Diego as he led the Padres in batting average and was selected to his 3rd consecutive All-Star appearance. This two-tone natural and black bat shows nice game-usage with ball marks, stitch impressions and cleat marks on the barrel. Gonzalez’ contact with baseballs have left white leather scuff marks and blue ink transfers. The knob bears the factory stamping of its length (34.5) and weight (31.5) along with number 28 written in black marker. That the number “8” has been made from a “3” shows that this bat was in all probability carried with him when he went to Boston and switched from the number 23 he wore in San Diego to the “28” he wore in Boston.
