Offered is a pair of batting gloves worn by New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez when he hit career home run 599. Career home run 599 came on July 22nd against the Kansas City Royals at Yankees Stadium, off Kansas City pitcher Rob Tejada in the seventh inning with no one on base, one out. At the conclusion of his 22-year Major League Baseball career in 2016, Rodriguez retired with 696 career home runs, fourth all-time behind Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755) and Babe Ruth (714).

A-Rod has signed and inscribed the white Nike batting gloves on the palm of each glove in blue marker, inscribing “HR #599” beneath his signature on both gloves. Both gloves have Rodriguez’s personal logo on the top of the wristband, and the number “13” in silver and white embroidered on a black patch.  Both gloves have a white Nike swoosh in a blue patch on the index finger. There are dirt stains on both gloves and the right thumb has white athletic trainer’s tape wrapped around it. This pair of batting gloves come with a signed LOA from Alex Rodriguez and have individual COAs from Beckett Authentication (H39787 & H39786). Additionally, there is a COA from Beckett Authentication (H39785) for the LOA signed by Rodriguez. Also, each glove has MLB Authenticated holograms (FJ095765 & FJ095764) which dates the pair to the July 22, 2010 game.
