Alex Rodriguez had a great day at the plate during the July 6, 2010 game against the A’s in Oakland. Rodriguez went for two-for-three, both hits being home runs. Rodriguez wore these Nike batting gloves to hit one of those home runs, a sixth-inning solo shot off of Trevor Cahill that cleared the center field wall for the 597th of his career. Later that summer A-Rod would become the youngest of the nine members of the 600 Career Home Run Club.
These batting gloves have gray palms and white leather on the outside hands with gray accents. Rodriguez’s “13” is affixed to the base of each palm strap in silver that is bordered in navy rectangle. The Nike swoosh is in navy on the top outside. These gloves display heavy game use with dirt and wear stains. Rodriguez has signed each palm of the glove in blue marker and inscribed “HR # 597 7/6/10” on each glove. These gloves come with a LOA signed by Alex Rodriguez, attesting that he wore these gloves when he hit his 597th career home run.
