Alex Rodriguez hit his 626th career home run on June 11th, 2011 during a home game against the Cleveland Indians. With the score tied 0-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Rodriguez lasered a 1-0 Mitch Talbot offering over the fence in left-center field to give the Yankees a one run lead. Rodriguez finished this game, a 4-0 Yankees victory, 1-3 with a hit by pitch in addition to his solo shot.
Offered in this lot are the batting gloves worn by Rodriguez when he recorded his 626th home run. These navy and white batting gloves are Nike Diamond Elite models, with a navy Nike swoosh applied to the top of each hand. A “13” tag is sewn on the underside of each wrist strap. Rodriguez has signed the palm of each glove in silver marker, inscribing “6/11/11 HR” beneath each signature. These gloves each come with a MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ 493514, FJ 493515). A LOA signed by Alex Rodriguez accompanies this lot.
