On April 23, 2011 the Yankees were in Baltimore facing the Orioles at Camden Yards. In the top of the 8th inning A-Rod came to the plate with the bases loaded to face Josh Rupe. With the count 2 balls and no strikes, Rodriguez blasted a shot to deep left field, recording not only his 618th career home run, but the 22nd grand slam of his career. This grand slam pulled Rodriguez within one of the all-time mark held by Lou Gehrig.

This Louisville Slugger C271L model bat he used to hit the homer is un-cracked and displays heavy use. Slight checking from repeated ball contact is found on the left and back barrel along with many ball marks with stitch impressions. A moderate coat of Mota Stick is on the handle and the bat’s specs are stamped into the knob. A-Rod has signed the barrel in silver marker, inscribing, “Game Used 4-23-11 Career HR #618 Grand Slam #22.” This bat comes with a LOA from Alex Rodriguez and an MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ560702) for the game use and signature.
