On Wednesday, April 13, 2011, New York Yankees third baseman slugged a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning off Baltimore Orioles pitcher Chris Tillman en route to a 7-4 Yankees win at Yankees Stadium. It was the 617th career home run for Rodriguez, who would end his career in 2016 with 696 career home runs, fourth all-time behind Barry Bonds (762), Hank Aaron (755) and Babe Ruth (714).

He hit the homer while wearing this pair of Nike batting gloves.  Rodriguez has signed his name in black marker on the palm of each glove, and inscribed “4-13-11 HR #” below his signature in black marker on the palm of the right glove, and “HR 4-13-11” below his signature in black marker on the palm of the left glove.

The white and gray, leather and mesh Nike batting glove has a black Nike swoosh logo on the back of each glove, along with a logo for “Diamond Elite” on the top side of each wristband.  The bottom side of each wristband has a white cloth patch with silver Nike swoosh logo at the bottom.  There are dirt stains on the fingers and palm of each glove in this pair. This pair of batting gloves come with MLB Authenticated holograms (FJ483347 & FJ483348), which dates the pair to the April 13, 2011 game (“presented by Alex Rodriguez”) and a signed LOA from Rodriguez.
