Alex Rodriguez continued his march towards 700 home runs when he wore these Nike Diamond Elite batting gloves during the June 8th, 2011 game against the Boston Red Sox to hit his 624th career home run. AROD’s 11th home run of the 2011 season came off of Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield in the bottom of the fourth inning and his solo shot got the Yankees on the scoreboard, but the Red Sox won the game 11-6 at Yankee Stadium.
These batting gloves have navy palms and white leather on the outside hands with navy accents. Rodriguez’s number “13” is printed in navy outlining on a white patch in the palm strap of each glove. These gloves display moderate game use with some dirt stains. Rodriguez has signed each palm of the glove in silver marker and inscribed “6/8/11 HR”. Also handwritten in blue marker on the palm strap on each side of his number is “1 Pitch”. These gloves come with a signed LOA from Alex Rodriguez, who authenticates that he wore these gloves during the June 8th, 2011 game for his 624th career home run and that he signed the gloves, along with a MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ493422).
