New York Mets infielder Jose Reyes spent his first stint with the ball club from 2003 – 2011 and was one of the most dynamic players in that time. During his final season of his first stint with the Mets in 2011, Reyes led the National League in batting average (.337) and triples (16). Reyes used this offered Marucci JR7-M model bat during the 2011 season. This bat displays heavy game use and is un-cracked. There are several ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and cleat imprints present throughout the barrel. There is a light coating of pine tar on the handle and there is a mark on the handle that identifies the grain, which has been mandatory per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since 2009. Reyes’ number “7” is affixed to the knob on a blue, orange and white Schutte sticker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15261). Please note that the consignor did not want to purchase the grading on this bat. However, we can inform all potential bidders that this bat has been pre-certified as a GU 10 by PSA/DNA and if the winning bidder chooses to have this bat graded, it will be guaranteed to receive a GU 10 grade.
