The Detroit Tigers were trailing three games to two in the 2011 American League Championship Series to the Texas Rangers when the series shifted back to Arlington, Texas. Miguel Cabrera got the Tigers off to a great start when he homered off Rangers pitcher Derek Holland to right field to give the Tigers an early lead. The lead was short-lived as the Rangers exploded for nine runs in the third inning to break the game open and despite Cabrera’s second home run in the eighth inning, Texas closed out the Tigers in six games to win the American League.

Cabrera wore this Majestic size 52 button-down Detroit Tigers road gray jersey during Game 6 of the ALCS. The front of the jersey has “Detroit” sewn on in navy blue, orange and white tackle twill across the chest with Cabrera’s number “24” sewn on the left center front in the same navy blue, orange and white. Navy blue piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons. The Majestic label is stitched to the lower right front tail with a white team strip tag that reads “24 52 ‘11 380”. The back of the jersey has “CABRERA” and his number “24” sewn on in navy blue, orange and white tackle twill and the MLB logo patch sewn on in navy blue, white and orange on the upper back neck. The Majestic logo is embroidered in navy blue on the left sleeve and a memorial black patch shaped like a home plate that has “SPARKY 11” is sewn on the right sleeve in honor of former Tigers manager and Hall of Famer Sparky Anderson, who passed away in November of 2010. This jersey shows moderate game use and Tigers’ clubhouse manager Jim Schmakel marked the manufacturer’s label “JSG” in faded black marker to verify the jersey was worn by Cabrera. Cabrera signed his name on the “2” on the back of the jersey and inscribed “24” and “CAREER POSTSEASON HOME RUNS #7-8”. Cabrera also made inscriptions on the “4” that read “GAME 6 – 1^st MULTI HOME RUN PLAYOFF GAME” and “2011 ALCS 400 AVG 3 HRs 7 RBI 1.606 OPS”. This jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ894380) which authenticates this jersey’s use by Cabrera during Game 6 of the 2011 ALCS and a STICKER ONLY from JSA (WP146012) for the signature and inscriptions.
