Los Angeles Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout has captured the American League Most Valuable Player award three times (2014, 2016 and 2019) in his eight Major League Baseball seasons, and was runner-up four times (2012, 2013, 2015 and 2018). His spectacular professional career began after the Angels drafted him as the 25th pick in the first round of the 2009 MLB Draft, and he got his first MLB action for a short stint in the 2011 season. Prior to that season, Trout was ranked number one overall by ESPN’s Keith Law in his 2011 top 100 prospects list, and by MLB's Jonathan Mayo. Trout started the 2011 season with the Arkansas Travelers of the Class AA Texas League, where he hit .324 with nine home runs, 27 RBIs, and 28 stolen bases in his first 75 games.
