The 2011 season heralded the debut of the greatest talent to ever come out of the Angels farm system. For a season or two word had been spreading about this big teenage Jersey Boy tearing up the minor leagues, playing the game with an infectious joy the likes of which hadn't been seen in years. Finally in late July the Angels brought up this Wonderboy to see what he could do against big league pitching. Mike Trout was just getting his feet wet in the majors when he used this bat in the September 11, 2011 game against the Yankees. Facing Freddie Garcia in the bottom of the 4th, the most anticipated rookie in the history of the Angels franchise broke this Old Hickory J143. The crack appears just below the light coat of pine tar on the upper handle. The lower handle has been characteristically taped in a spiral of adhesive and then augmented with a heavy coat of Mota Stick to enhance Trout's grip. The bat displays moderate use with several bat rack paint streaks visible. A great gamer from the season Mike Trout burst into the American League, winning the Rookie of the Year Award. MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ 715656) authenticates the game use of the bat.
