This lot features a pair of game used items from four-time All Star Victor Martinez during his first stint with the Detroit Tigers in 2011. The Rawlings helmet is a size 7 ¼, navy blue with white Tigers “D” logo on crown and stickers bearing Martinez’ number 41 on the bottom rear in navy with white trim above the MLB logo and hologram. Inside is a Rawlings “R” logo sticker along with an MLB hologram and the headwear shows great use including scratches, pine tar stain on the bill, and some peeling of the padding cover inside the ear flap and back. The button front jersey is polyester in road gray with “Detroit” scripted across the chest. The uniform number appears on the left breast and back and “MARTINEZ” is sewn on to the back, with all tackle twill letters and numbers in black with orange and white trim. An MLB logo is on the back of the collar, and a black home plate patch with “SPARKY 11” adorns the right sleeve, in memory of Tigers skipper Sparky Anderson. The front tail sports an MLB Authentic tag, below which sits a white sewn on tag with the designation “41 48 ’11 382.”
