Presented here is a baseball signed by 34 members of the 2012 Detroit Tigers baseball club. The American League Central Division champions in 2012, the Tigers advanced to the World Series by defeating the Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees in the playoffs. This was the Tigers second American League championship in six seasons, and they faced the San Francisco Giants in the Fall Classic. Although they were swept in four games by the Giants, the Tigers still had a magical season. Slugger Miguel Cabrera won the American League triple crown, the first triple crown in the American League since Carl Yastrzemski in 1967.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland signed the sweet spot of this Allan H. Selig Official 2012 Postseason baseball.
