2012 was a memorable year for the Tigers of Detroit. They won 88 games, enough to clinch the American League Central Division title by three games over the Chicago White Sox. They marched to the World Series, defeating the Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees along the way. Although the Tigers lost to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series, their star third baseman Miguel Cabrera claimed American League MVP honors. The burly Venezuelan won the first American League Triple Crown since Carl Yastrzemski claimed the award in 1967. Cabrera finished the year with a batting average of .330, with 44 home runs and 139 RBI.

This Allan H. Selig Official Major League baseball has been signed by 34 members of the 2012 Tigers. Manager Jim Leyland signed the sweet spot. Other signatures include Cabrera, Max Scherzer, Brennan Boesch, Joaquin Benoit, Doug Fister, Andy Dirks, Jacob Turner, Omir Santos, Alex Avila, Duane Below, Rafael Belliard, Austin Jackson, and several more. The signatures have been written in blue pen. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A03428).
