When Chipper Jones retired from baseball in 2012 after a 19-year career with Atlanta, retiring his iconic number “10” was an easy decision for the Braves’ organization. Jones was the face of the franchise for the better part of two decades, leading Atlanta to a World Series title in 1995 while earning eight All-Star appearances, an NL MVP award and two Silver Slugger crowns.
This signed road gray button-down Jones jersey comes from the third baseman’s final season in Atlanta. Jones signed the jersey on the reverse side “0” in bold, silver Sharpie with the inscription “2012 Game Used Final Season.” The front of the jersey features “Atlanta” scripted across the chest in red-on-navy blue tackle twill with the Braves’ famed tomahawk logo below. The back boasts “JONES” in navy blue tackle twill on a matching gray name plate with his number “10” below sewn on in red and navy blue tackle twill. The front tail of the jersey features a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s tag with a white strip tag below that reads “48 ’12 S18,” for the jersey’s size, year and set. The signed jersey shows light evidence of game use and comes with a COA from PSA/DNA (4A62740) and comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
