To honor arguably the most significant and important player in baseball history, Major League Baseball celebrates “Jackie Robinson Day” on April 15th of every season. Offered here is the second base used during the first and second innings at Fenway Park on April 15, 2012. The Red Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 6-4 behind the hitting of David Ortiz, who went 3-4 with two doubles and an RBI. This white Schutt base shows excellent game use with dirt marks on the top. The base has two “FENWAY PARK 100 YEARS” plates on opposite sides, while the other two sides have blue “JACKIE ROBINSON DAY APRIL 15, 2012” plates. Ortiz signed his name in bold black marker on top of the base and added the inscriptions “Thanks For Leading The Way Jackie”. This game used and signed base comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK055205) which authenticates the use of this base during the first and second innings on April 15, 2012 and Ortiz’s signature.
