Sunday, May 13, 2012 was Mother’s Day, and all MLB players sported custom pink Louisville Sluggers for the day. Down in Miami, the Marlins were hosting the New York Mets. With the score knotted at 4-all going into the 9th, Miami managed to load the bases. That brought up Giancarlo Stanton to face Mets’ reliever Manny Acosta. With two outs, Stanton lined a ball to deep left center, winning the game and providing the 26,000 fans with a Mother’s Day they wouldn’t soon forget. This is the bat Stanton used for that walk-off grand slam. The special pink-finished Louisville Slugger U47 model bat shows good use with several ball marks and scuffs on the barrel. There are visible abrasions from contact with other bats throughout and the handle has a coat of pine tar. A very unique bat used for a walk-off grand slam, one of baseball’s most exciting experiences. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13256) for the game use.
