For the second straight Olympics, the United States men’s basketball team won gold when they won at the 2012 London Games with an undefeated 8-0 record. Led by a multitude of stars including Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and coached by Mike Krzyzewski. During the preliminary round, the US easily defeated France, Tunisia, Nigeria and Argentina, with its closest game coming against Lithuania – winning by five points (99-94). During the knockout round, the US defeated Australia 119-86, Argentina in the semi-final 109-83 and Spain for the gold 107-100.

Presented here is a 14 karat gold ring presented to a family member of Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn. The US basketball team stayed at the Wynn Hotel during July of 2012 in preparation for the London Games. This women’s ring has a bevy of diamonds on the front with a “USA 2012” in blue and red in the center of the diamonds and “OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS” on the top and bottom in gold. The left shank has “WYNN” and the USA BASKETBALL logo in raised relief with a backdrop of an American flag in the background. The opposite shank has “LONDON” in raised relief with a basketball set on a net in the middle with “8-0” and “GOLD MEDAL” etched on a banner at the bottom. The ring is a size 5 and weighs approximately 28.20 grams with “©TIFFANY & CO AU 585” etched on the inner band.
