St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina has established himself as one of the top catchers in the game, not only defensively with eight Gold Glove Awards, but offensively as well with a career batting average over. 280. Molina’s 2012 season saw him hit a career-high 22 home runs and a career-best .315 average as he used this Original Maple Bat Co. (SAM) MC1 model bat during that season. This bat displays outstanding game use with a crack on the handle. There are numerous ball marks, blue and black ink transfers and cleat imprints present on the barrel, along with a depression. There is a mark on the handle that identifies the face of the grain, which is a mandatory marking per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since January 2009. The bat’s manufacture date “01/31/12”, Molina’s number “4” and the bat’s length “35” and weight “1” are stamped on the knob. Molina has signed his name in blue marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17126) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.5, plus a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
