Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love wore this uniform set during two of his last games as a member of the Timberwolves. Love played for the T-Wolves from 2008 through the 2013-14 season. Acquired in a draft night trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, Love was the cornerstone of the franchise until he was acquired by the Cleveland Cavaliers in a three-team trade. The former UCLA Bruin was a three-time All-Star for the Timberwolves, averaging a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds per game during his six seasons in Minnesota. Armed with a lethal three point shot and the league’s best outlet pass, Love has built a reputation as one of the star big men in the NBA today.
The first game Love wore this uniform set in was a home contest against the Chicago Bulls on April 9th, 2014. Although the T-Wolves fell 102-87 to the playoff-bound Bulls, Love led the team with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The rest of the T-Wolves failed to muster enough offense to unseat Jimmy Butler and the Bulls, as Ricky Rubio and Ronny Turiaf were the only other Timberwolves to reach double figures in scoring.
The next game Love wore this jersey in was a 136-130 double overtime home defeat to the Utah Jazz. This was Love’s final game with the Timberwolves, as he would join the Cavs in August. Love put forth a heroic effort in this game, finishing one assist shy of a triple-double. The big man dropped 19 points, while collecting 10 rebounds and dishing nine assists. The other Kevin on the Minnesota squad, shooting guard Kevin Martin, led the Timberwolves in scoring in this game with 36 points.
This jersey is made of white mesh fabric, and features “WOLVES” sewn across the chest in black, silver, and blue tackle twill. The sides of the jersey feature a blue, gray, and black design. The collar is ringed with a blue and gray band. The chest of the jersey features a circular “25 Seasons” patch sewn on the right side, while an NBA logo patch is sewn on the left. An Adidas size “3XL” tag with an attached “Length +4” flag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. “Set 2” and “42 – Love” is written in black marker on the tag.
