Chicago White Sox first baseman Adam Dunn wore this 1972 home throwback uniform during the Sox 3-0 defeat to the Tampa Bay Rays on July 6th, 2013. The Rays, a franchise that first took the field in 1998, wore specially-designed “faux-back” jerseys that approximated what they franchise may have looked like in 1972. Dunn started this game at first base and hit in the cleanup spot. Dunn hit 34 homers in 2013, his penultimate season, while adding 86 RBI and 76 bases on balls.

This lot contains Dunn’s jersey and pants from the July 6th contest. The jersey is a white button-down with red pinstripes, and “SOX” sewn on the chest in red and white tackle twill. Dunn’s number “32” is sewn on the chest and back in red and white tackle twill. A White Sox patch is sewn on the left sleeve above a red Majestic logo. A Majestic tag and a “32 [size] 52 1972” swatch are located on the front left tail. Dunn has signed the “2” digit on the back of the jersey in silver marker. The jersey comes with a COA from PSA/DNA (AE55794) for Dunn’s signature and a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 523155) for the game use.

Also included in this lot are Dunn’s white, red pinstriped pants from the throwback game. A Majestic tag is sewn on the back inside waistband next to a “32 Dunn 38-49 OB C 1972” swatch. The pants show light staining on the front upper legs. These pants come with a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 523191).
