The 2013 season did see the final game for its legendary Hall of Fame closer Mariano Rivera and started to mark a new era in Yankees history, the post Core Four era and the birth of the Baby Bombers as the Yankees drafted Aaron Judge with the 32 overall pick in the draft.  The Yankees also experienced history with the final games for Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera taking place at Yankee Stadium.  Rivera's was particularly memorable as he had both legendary Yankees and longtime teammates Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte come and relieve him off the mound on Sept 26, 2013. This lot offers a chair used during this game and also used throughout the 2013 season by Pettitte in his final season.  The chair is authenticated to 9/26/2013, the game where Jeter and Pettitte walked to the mound to relieve Mariano Rivera during his final appearance on the mound and at Yankee Stadium.

This folding royal blue clubhouse chair features an embroidered NY Yankees Top Hat logo and Number “46” on the back rest.  On the reverse Mariano Rivera has signed his name in bold silver Sharpie and inscribed “#42”.  Along the top of the metal frame on the top is a line of tape that reads “Andy Pettitte #46 9/26 EK 809555”. The signature comes authenticated by Steiner Sports and the game used has been authenticated by Steiner and comes with a Yankees-Steiner LOA while also being authenticated by MLB Authenticated hologram (EK809555) which is also referenced in the Yankees-Steiner LOA (200423). The date of the game use on the chair reads 9/26/2013 which was the date of their final home game. Game Used items that are used over the duration of a season are typically authenticated by Major League Baseball after the final home game of the season as was a regular occurrence for the New York Yankees.
