Pittsburgh Pirates ace Gerrit Cole wore this white Pirates home jersey during a game against the Philadelphia Phillies on July 4th, 2013 at PNC Park. Cole, making his fifth career start, pitched 5.1 innings and struck out five in the Pirates eventual 6-4 loss to the Phillies. The first overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft made 19 starts for the playoff-bound Pirates, finishing the year with a solid 10-7 record and a 3.22 ERA. This offered Pittsburgh button-down jersey has “PIRATES” sewn across the chest in black and yellow tackle twill. Cole’s number “45” is sewn on the chest and back in black and yellow tackle twill. “COLE” is sewn across the back shoulders in black and yellow tackle twill below a MLB logo patch. A Pirates logo patch and a black Majestic logo are sewn on the left sleeve. A Majestic size “50” tag is applied to the front left tail of this jersey. The jersey is accompanied by a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 683145) which dates the use of the jersey to Cole’s July 4th start.
