Ichiro Suzuki is unarguably one of the greatest pure hitters in the history of the game of baseball.  After playing for nine seasons in Japan and putting up impressive statistics, Suzuki came over the US to play for the Seattle Mariners in 2001.  In 2001 Suzuki proved his legend was no farce and won both the AL Rookie of the Year and MVP Awards.  From 2001-2010 Suzuzki was selected to the All-Star Team every year and also broke George Sisler’s 84-year-old single season hit record with a total of 262 hits in 2004.  After Suzuki left Seattle at 38 years old, he spent the next two and a half seasons from 2012-2014 with the New York Yankees on his quest for baseball’s all-time professional hit record of 4,257 hits (in combined league play).

This New York Yankees Clubhouse chair was used by Suzuki during the 2013 Season.  The padded metal chair possesses Ichiro’s embroidered number #31 and the Yankees top hat logo in the back rest.  Mariano Rivera has signed the reverse of the back rest in silver with the added inscription, “My Final Season” as the 2013 was also the final season from New York Yankees Hall of Fame closer during his farewell tour. The chair was used on and authenticated to 9/26/2013 whcih was the final game in the career of Mariano Rivera, the day he was taken off the mound by teammates Andy Pettitte and Derek Jeter in the famous meeting on the mound.  There is some minor streaking near the handwriting as evidenced in the photos, which is not uncommon for game used seats signed in silver paint pen.   The signature and inscription have been authenticated by Steiner Sports and come with certificate of authenticity cards.  The game use has been authenticated by an MLB Authenticated hologram (EK810204) and Yankees-Steiner and comes with a full LOA.  The date of the game use on the chair reads 9/22/2013 and 9/26/2013 which was the date of their final home game.  Game Used items that are used over the duration of a season are typically authenticated by Major League Baseball after the final home game of the season as was a regular occurrence for the New York Yankees.
