2013 was the fourth consecutive season Joey Votto led the National League in on-base percentage. His league-leading 135 walks and .305 batting average made him one of the most dangerous batters in the National League. Wearing this red Cincinnati Reds helmet, Votto hit his 134th career home run and first of the 2013 season, during the April 14th game at Pittsburgh.
This size 7½ Rawlings S100 Pro Comp style all-red helmet displays heavy game use. There are cracks on the outer shell and brim and numerous scuff marks and abrasions are present on the crown and brim. This helmet features the Reds wishbone “C” logo decal in white and black affixed to the front of the helmet. The right ear has an ear flap and Votto’s number “19” is affixed to the back of the helmet in red and white, along with the MLB logo. The all-black interior padding is still intact with the Rawlings and MLB Authentic labels sewn on in opposite sides. This helmet comes with a LOA from Resolution Photomatching (425572) who have photo matched this helmet to the April 14th, 2013 game in which Votto hit his 134th career home run. Additionally, there is an MLB Authenticated hologram (EK710163), which was collected following the May 24th, 2013 game and classified as Team Issued. Please note that MLB classified this helmet as Team Issued with the following disclaimer “This authenticator did not witness this helmet being used but was told by Jon Cline who works for Cincinnati Reds Authentics.”
