2017 American League MVP Jose Altuve has spent his entire career with the Houston Astros. The diminutive second baseman has defied the odds to become one of baseball’s best players. The 2013 season saw Altuve finish with 177 hits and a .283 batting average, setting him up for the next four years of dominant offensive production.
This Zinger X23 model bat was used by Altuve during the 2013 season. This bat displays heavy use and has a slight crack on the handle. The barrel is covered with ball marks, stitch marks, blue ink transfers and bat rack streaks. The handle has a moderate coating of pine tar and there is a mark on the handle that identifies the grain, which has been mandatory per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since 2009. Altuve signed this two-toned bat in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “2013”. This is a great early-career gamer from the reigning American League MVP and it comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15220), who have graded this bat a perfect GU 10 and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (C99691) for Altuve’s signature.
