While Lloyd McClendon never made an All-Star team as a player, his coaching career has taken him to numerous Mid-Summer Classics. As a coach for the Detroit Tigers in 2013, he was named to the American League’s coaching staff for the All-Star game that season.
Designed in New York Mets colors as host of the All-Star Game, the jersey offered here is a blue 2013 All-Star game batting practice jersey worn by McClendon. The American League logo from this All Star game is sewn on the front in blue and orange tackle twill. The right sleeve has the Tigers’ “D” logo sewn on in white and navy tackle twill, and the left sleeve has a blue and orange tackle twill All-Star game patch. “McCLENDON” is sewn onto the back of this size 50 jersey in white tackle twill, above his number “8.” The “8” is sewn on in blue and white tackle twill. McClendon signed the inside of the “8” in silver Sharpie, inscribing “Game Used” and “ASG 2013.” There is orange mesh lining beneath each armpit and a Majestic Cool Base tag on the front left bottom portion. This item comes with a McClendon LOA.
