A journeyman player more notably known for his managerial career, Lloyd McClendon has been an MLB mainstay since the 1980s. Most recently, he has been a coach for the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers, the team he will be rejoining this coming 2017 season. In 2013, McClendon was a hitting coach for the Tigers and helped guide the team all the way to the ALCS, which they lost in six games to the eventual champion Boston Red Sox.
This jersey is a size 50 white Majestic button-down home jersey, worn by McClendon during the 2013 playoffs. This jersey has the Tiger’s “D” logo sewn on the left breast in navy tackle twill. A “2013 Postseason” logo is sewn on the right sleeve. “McCLENDON” is sewn on the back in navy tackle twill above his number “8,” also in navy tackle twill. A navy and white MLB logo is sewn on the collar. McClendon signed the “8” in silver Sharpie, inscribing “Game Worn 2013 Postseason” below his signature. A Majestic tag and sizing information are sewn on to the front left tail of the jersey. This item comes with a McClendon LOA.
