Mariano Rivera is unquestionably the best closer in baseball history, a cold-blooded competitor armed with a ferocious cut fastball. Rivera won five World Series titles with the New York Yankees and has saved more games (652) than any other pitcher in baseball history. Rivera pitched his final season in 2013, saving 44 games with a 2.11 ERA and the 13th All-Star nod of his career. Rivera wore this camouflage patterned Memorial Day hat on May 27th, 2013, during the Yankees visit across New York to Citi Field. The Mets won this game 2-1, with their two runs coming in the final two frames. Rivera did not pitch in this game. This cap is a size 7 3/8, with the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo sewn on the front and a MLB logo sewn on the back. Rivera’s number “42” is written on the inside of the cap in black marker. This item comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 509026) and a Steiner Sports game used hologram (189298).
