Mariano Rivera wore this navy blue New York Yankees hat on May 25, 2013 against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. Rivera pitched a perfect 11th inning to earn the save in a 4-3 Yankee win. This was the 626th of Rivera’s 652 career saves, and the 18th save of his final season. When Rivera retired at the end of the 2013 season, he was the last MLB player able to wear the number 42, as he made his debut before the Bud Selig retired Jackie Robinson’s number league-wide in 1997.

This navy Yankee hat features the raised white Yanks’ iconic interlocking “NY” logo on the front. Rivera signed the bill of this cap in silver marker, inscribing “13 Final Season” below his signature. On the underside of the bill, Rivera wrote “42 mo”. This cap shows evidence of light game use and comes with a Steiner authenticated hologram (202675) and a MLB Authenticated hologram (EK 480969), which dates it to the May 25th contest.
