In the midst of his 2nd straight MVP campaign, Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera hit his 36th home run of the 2013 season and 357th of his career off Hall of Fame closer Mariano Rivera at Yankee Stadium in the ninth inning to draw the Tigers within a run, finishing the day going 2-3 while wearing this button-down grey Tigers road jersey on August 11, 2013. Victor Martinez would follow two batters later and tie the game with a solo shot with the Yankees winning the game 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning.
This game used jersey features “Detroit” scripted across the chest in navy blue, orange and white tackle twill with “CABRERA” across the top back and his number “24” on both sides. Navy blue piping circles the collar and runs down the front, on either side of the buttons, and the MLB logo is patched at the base of the neck. The front left tail of the jersey features a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s label with a white strip tag below that reads “24 48 ’13 444.” Tigers’ clubhouse manager Jim Schmakel marked the manufacturer’s label “JSG” in black Sharpie to verify the jersey was worn by Cabrera. The jersey shows light game use and comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (EK800004).
