Chicago Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro wore this Jackie Robinson Day jersey on April 16th, 2013. As is the custom on Jackie Robinson Day, the number on the back of this jersey is 42, and there is no name on the back. Castro wore this jersey during a 4-2 loss to the visiting Texas Rangers. Castro was one half of the Cubs offense that day, scoring one of their two runs.

This white pinstriped jersey features a 7 inch diameter circular Cubs logo sewn on the left breast. A different Cubs “C” logo with a bear inside is sewn on the left arm above a blue Majestic logo. “42” is sewn on the back in blue on red tackle twill. An MLB logo is sewn on the back outside collar, with a “13 48 ‘13” tag sewn on the inside of the collar. A Majestic size “48” tag has been applied to the front left tail, and a Majestic “COOL BASE” flag is sewn on the side of the jersey. The underarm area is made of white mesh fabric. This jersey shows excellent evidence of use, and is heavily stained with dirt.

Castro signed the “4” digit on the back, adding the date “4-16-13” and his usual number, “13”, in silver marker. This item comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram for game use (EK 367724). Castro’s signature comes with a full LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
