Wil Myers is the third American League Rookie of the Year award winner for the Tampa Bay Rays, following in the footsteps of Evan Longoria and Jeremy Hellickson. Myers won the award in 2013 after hitting 13 home runs with 51 RBI and a .293 batting average in only 88 games. This Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseball was used on August 31^st, 2013, during the Rays 2-1 road loss to the Oakland Athletics at O.co Coliseum. Myers nearly sparked a rally in the top of the ninth frame, hitting this very baseball for a bases-empty double against A’s closer Grant Balfour. Several batters later, Desmond Jennings singled home Myers before a Kelly Johnson groundout ended the Rays rally. This was the 10th double of Myers career.
