Offered here is a collection of former pitcher C.C. Sabathia’s game used and issued items dating from 2014 through 2016. The first item is a road gray Majestic button-down New York Yankees jersey worn during Derek Jeter’s final game in the Majors on September 28th, 2014 at Fenway Park in Boston. Sabathia did not pitch in the game. This jersey has “NEW YORK” sewn on across the chest in navy and white tackle twill. The back of the jersey has “52” sewn on in navy and white tackle twill and the MLB logo patch above. The Yankees bar code tag (0000004325), along with the Majestic tag with “2014”, “52”, “+2” slv” and “+2” body” flags attached are located on the bottom front left tail. Sabathia has inscribed this jersey on the numbers with 5 having “GU Jeter final Game 9-5 W vs Boston 9/28/14”, “Carston Charles Sabathia” and “Farewell Captain”, while the 2 has “09 ALCS MVP” “6x AS”, “2009 WSC”, “07 AL Cy young” and “2x MLB Wins Leader”. This jersey comes with a Steiner Sports hologram and an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ556749). Also included are a pair of matching gray pants. These pants were made by Majestic and the tag on the inside waist reads “#52 Sabathia 42-56 38 OB ’13. These pants do not display use and come with an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ556794) and Steiner hologram. Next is a 2016 Yankees helmet worn by Sabathia. This helmet displays solid game use with abrasion and dirt marks. Sabathia’s number “52” is affixed to the brim of the helmet with the “2” peeling. This comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JC007693). Please note that this helmet is listed as Team Issued, a common designation for items collected after the season and not directly from the player. The next item is a 2009 left high top cleat. This cleat is gray and black, with white accents. This displays excellent game use with abrasion and dirt marks on the top and dirt on the metal spikes and soles. Sabathia signed his name in blue marker on instep toe and inscribed “Game Used 2009 WS Champs”. This comes with a STICKER ONLY from Steiner Sports. Next is a 2014 Yankees navy colored heavy dugout road jacket. The size has been obscured by the MLB hologram, but appears to be “2” or “3” XG. “52” is handwritten on the inside tag as well. “NEW YORK” is sewn on across the zipper-down front in gray and white tackle twill. The Yankees bat in hat logo is on the left sleeve. This comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ556930) and a Steiner Sports hologram. The final item is a 22 x 27 frame that Sabathia signed in blue marker on the Sports Illustrated Baseball Preview cover. Sabathia’s signature is comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ482684) and also in the frame is a Yankee Stadium No. 52 Suite Sign from the Suite entrance. It lists all the players in Yankees history that have worn number 52. This comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (EK399857) and the entire framed piece comes with a Steiner Sports LOA.
