After several seasons in the low minors where stories of his base stealing became almost mythical, Billy Hamilton made his big league debut at the tail end of the 2013 season. Hamilton really came into his own the next season where he swiped 56 bases and hit .250 as the Reds leadoff hitter. On June 28 Hamilton hit his first career leadoff home run off Matt Cain of the Giants, and this is the bat he used to do it.
This Marucci WD28-LDM model bat has a broken handle and shows heavy game use with many ball marks and stitch impressions on the barrel. A moderate coat of pine tar is on the handle and there are many abrasions throughout from use and contact with other bats. The Reds speedster has signed the barrel in silver marker with the inscription “Game Used 6-15-14 1st Career Leadoff Home Run”. The bat comes with an MLB hologram (HZ038401) for the game use and a full LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
