Troy Polamalu was one of the NFL’s best defensive players during his 12-season career, spent entirely with the Pittsburgh Steelers. A ball-hawking safety, Polamalu made eight Pro Bowls, four First Team All-Pro teams, and won two Super Bowls during his time with the Steelers. In 2010, Polamalu was honored with the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. Polamalu retired after the 2014 season, finishing his career with 32 interceptions, 12 sacks, and an enduring NFL legacy.
This jersey was issued to Polamalu on November 9th, 2014, during the “Salute To Service” game between the Steelers and the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Polamalu missed this game due to a knee injury, but the jersey was nevertheless prepared for and issued to the safety. This white road jersey has Polamalu’s number “43” sewn on the front, back, and shoulders in black tackle twill, with “POLAMALU” sewn across the back shoulders in yellow and black tackle twill over a matching white nameplate. The sleeves are accented with a black and yellow pattern, and a black Nike swoosh patch is sewn on each sleeve. A circular Steelers logo patch is sewn on the left chest, and a vinyl NFL shield is applied on the collar of this jersey. A Nike size “44 Skill” tag with attached “2014” and “+4 Length” flags is sewn on the back inside collar of the jersey. This item comes with a COA from NFL-PSA/DNA (2N09780).
