Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts wore this white home jersey during the Red Sox-Orioles game on September 9th, 2014. Although the Red Sox lost 4-1, Bogaerts went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. His home run, which provided the Red Sox only offense on the day, came in the bottom of the fourth inning against Orioles starter Chris Tillman.
2014 was the first complete season for Bogaerts, a member of the Order of Orange-Nassau. He hit 12 home runs, with 46 and 28 doubles, proving to the Red Sox that he was their best infield prospect since Hanley Ramirez. He would break out during the 2015 season, hitting .320 with 81 RBI and collecting a Silver Slugger award, before his first All-Star campaign in 2016.
This white, button down jersey has “RED SOX” sewn across the front in red and navy tackle twill. Bogaert’s number “2” is sewn on the back of the jersey in red and blue tackle twill beneath a MLB logo. A navy blue and white Majestic logo is sewn on the left sleeve. Red piping runs down the chest and around the collar of this jersey. A Majestic size “46” tag is applied to the front left tail of the jersey. The chest of this jersey features a large dirt stain, the result of Bogaert’s hustle. This jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ 208933), which dates it to the September 9th game. There is also a LOA from Resolution Photomatching that photo matches this jersey to the September 9th game.
