2014 was the first complete season for Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts, a member of the Order of Orange-Nassau. He hit 12 home runs, with 46 and 28 doubles, proving to the Red Sox that he was their best infield prospect since Hanley Ramirez. He would break out during the 2015 season, hitting .320 with 81 RBI and collecting a Silver Slugger award, before his first All-Star campaign in 2016.

Offered here are four items from his Major League debut in late 2013 and his full 2014 rookie season. The first item is a Rawlings PRO D32 model glove used by Bogaerts. This all-back glove displays outstanding game use with even wear throughout the webbing, palm and edges. There are dirt stains on both the front and back. “Rawlings” has been embroidered in red on the outside index finger and the red Rawlings label is sewn on the outside wrist strap. “Xander Bogaerts” is embroidered in red stitching on the outside thumb. Bogaerts has signed his name in silver marker above the Rawlings logo on the outer thumb and inscribed “14 GU”. This comes with a LOA from Anderson Authentics (1420) for the game use and signature.

Bogaerts used this Louisville Slugger M110 model bat during the 2014 season. This bat displays heavy use and is un-cracked. There are numerous ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. There is a moderate coating of pine tar on the upper handle. The date of manufacture “01/15/14” and length/weight “34.0/31.0” have been stamped on the knob and Bogaerts has signed his name in gold marker on the barrel and inscribed “GU 14”. This bat comes with a LOA from Anderson Authentics (1116) for the game use and signature.

Bogaerts wore this offered Boston Red Sox fielder’s cap during the 2014 season. This wool cap was manufactured by New Era and is a size 7 3/8. This navy cap has the Red Sox “B” in raised red and white stitching on the front. The back of this hat has the MLB logo embroidered in red white and navy. This cap displays excellent game use with dirt stains on the brim and sweat stains on the interior lining and under brim. Bogaerts has signed his name in silver marker on the top right of the brim and inscribed “14 GU”. This game used and signed cap comes with a LOA from Anderson Authentics (1004), who have authenticated the game use and signature by Bogaerts. The final item in this lot is a ticket stub from Bogaerts debut game on August 20, 2013 at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Bogaerts signed his name in blue pen over the image of Madison Bumgarner and inscribed on the white portion “MLB Debut 8-20-2013”.
