Offered in this lot is a basketball used during the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves game at STAPLES Center on October 28th, 2015, to open the 2015-16 season for both clubs. This was the NBA debut for the first and second overall picks of the 2015 NBA Draft, Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell. The Timberwolves won this game 112-111, withstanding a late onslaught from the Lakers to open the season 1-0. Ricky Rubio scored 28 points on 10-17 shooting, adding 14 assists and the game-clinching free throw with 1:41 left in the fourth quarter. Towns finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Kobe Bryant led the Lakers in scoring with 24 points. Russell contributed four points, three boards, and two assists in his debut. This offered Spalding basketball is in excellent condition.
