New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira wore this jersey on August 23rd, 2015, during a 4-3 home loss to the Cleveland Indians. Although Teixeira did not play, his understudy, the top-tier prospect Greg Bird, got the start. Despite the missed start, Teixeira was an All-Star in 2015. He clubbed 31 home runs, with 79 RBI and 22 doubles, as the Yankees finished in second place in the American League East, securing a playoff matchup against the Houston Astros in the American League Wild Card game.
This white, button down, pinstriped home jersey has the Yankees interlocking “NY” logo sewn on the left chest in navy blue tackle twill. Teixeira’s number “25” is sewn on the back of the jersey in navy blue tackle twill beneath a navy blue and gray MLB logo. A special patch honoring Andy Pettitte’s jersey retirement is sewn on the left sleeve. The patch is circular, and shows Pettitte glowering over the top of his glove, with his number “46” gracing the bottom of the patch. A Majestic tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Size “48”, “2015”, and “Taper” flags are sewn on the tag. Teixeira signed the “5” digit on the back of the jersey in silver marker. He added the inscription “Game Used ‘15”. A COA from PSA/DNA (AB16505) authenticates the signature. A Steiner Sports LOA and a MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ 938920) authenticate that the jersey was worn on August 23rd.
