As 2015 drew to a close, Mike Trout’s reputation was firmly established as the best young player in the game. Only in his fourth Major League season, Trout had already taken the Rookie of the Year Award and his first MVP Award. On September 6th, the Rangers came into Angel Stadium for a Sunday afternoon game. Trout began the 7-0 dismantling of Texas with a first inning solo home run, his 34th of the year. Trout would go 1-for-2 for the afternoon with a walk and two RBI.

This offered group collects two game used pieces from that September 6th home run game. The first item is Trout’s Old Hickory MT27 model bat. The stick he used to hit number 34 shows tremendous game use with many ball marks and white leather scuffs on the barrel. The bat was manufactured in 2014 but used by Trout the following season. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and cleat imprints are found front and left barrel. The upper handle has a heavy coat of pine tar and Mota Stick on the lower handle and knob that has been taped to enhance the grip. The Angels star has signed the barrel in silver pen and noted the significance with “HR #34 vs Tex.”

The second piece in this lot is the jersey Trout wore during the September 6, 2015 game. The jersey has been photo matched to the September 6, 2015 game against Texas and their LOA is included with the group. The home white jersey has “ANGELS” and his number “27” on the front in red, silver and navy tackle twill. A Majestic size 48 label is found in the lower left front tail with MLB (HK88041) and Anderson Authentics holograms affixed. The neck and arm openings are trimmed in red and the left and right sleeves have Angels logo patches.  The back has “TROUT” and his number “27” in red and navy tackle twill. Trout has signed the numbers in black marker adding his number “27” and “HR #34 vs Tex.” The jersey shows light wear with pine tar stains visible on the front placket and shoulders. A pair of tickets to the September 6 game completes this unique group. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B14103) for the game use and an Anderson Authentics LOA for the signature. The jersey comes with MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ888041) and a LOA from Resolution Photomatching (425339) for the game use and an Anderson Authentics LOA for the signature.
