It really is the ONLY way to go out from the game which has treated you so well, and to which you have excelled…that is to go out by winning the Super Bowl. Thus far, only two quarterbacks have retired as Super Bowl Champions…and both were Denver Broncos. 17 years ago John Elway won the Super Bowl over the Green Bay Packers and retired as Super Bowl Champion, and most recently Peyton Manning, winning Super Bowl 50 with Elway as the GM who brought Peyton on board the Bronco Express.

During the Super Bowl winning season in their November 1st home game vs. the Green Bay Packers, Peyton wore this dark blue home jersey. On each side and both shoulders is Manning’s number “18” with Nike Swoosh on the right shoulder near the captains “C” patch. Interestingly, when Manning came over to the Broncos prior to the 2013 season, number 18 for Denver was already retired in honor of the first Bronco quarterback Frank Tripucka. The Broncos received permission from Tripucka, also a former Notre Dame All-American signal caller, to “un-retire” the Bronco number so Peyton could wear his synonymous number. Above the number on the reverse is his name “MANNING” in white on a blue nameplate with the back number “8” signed “Peyton Manning 18 Game Used 11-1-15” and FANATICS hologram (0925699). Within the collar is the NIKE 46 ON FIELD Q-BAK” tag with attached “2013” year flag tag, and with “11.1.15” written in black marker. While the jersey tag indicates 2013, which was Peyton’s first year in Denver (another Super Bowl appearance), and was likely worn by Manning in 2013, he also wore this exact jersey in that November 1st game vs. the Green Bay Packers. It is common place for players, especially quarterbacks, to re-use game jerseys and this was likely done with Manning.

With a FANATICS LOA signed by Manning as rock-solid authentication this jersey was worn by him in 2015, it is very likely this jersey was worn by Manning on one or more occasions during his inaugural Mile High season. This particular game provided what this Super Bowl winning season was all about for the Broncos, as their defense suffocated Green Bay Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers for a career low 77 yards passing, and the offense rode Manning’s arm (21-29, 340 yards) and a potent running attack to dominate the high powered Packers 29-10. This jersey has tremendous evidence of game use with multiple grass and dirt stains on the front and both shoulders.

This is a personally worn and signed home jersey, with an LOA from Peyton Manning indicating when he wore this particular jersey. It was also likely worn by Manning additional times in his first season in Denver. Both seasons were Super Bowl appearances, culminating in the Super Bowl 50 Lombardi Trophy. The jersey, the season and the history of the player also culminates with this offered Manning gamer, one of the best Manning jerseys available on the open market. This comes with a full LOA from FANATICS Authentic, signed by Peyton Manning himself.
