The ninth member of the 600 Home Run Club, Albert Pujols, wore this white Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim home jersey on September 16th, 2016, during a game at Angel Stadium of Anaheim against the Toronto Blue Jays. Although the Angels fell 5-0, Pujols performed admirably. He doubled off of former National League Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey in the first inning, advancing Mike Trout to third before Dickey regained control of the inning without surrendering a run.
In the third inning, Pujols collected his second hit of the game, stroking a single to right field. Pujols finished the 2016 season on a strong note, connecting on 31 home runs with 119 RBI in a vintage performance for the three-time National League MVP. His home run total sat at 591 at the end of the 2016 season, before a strong first quarter of 2017 saw him hit number 600, a grand slam, on June 3rd.
Offered is this white, button down jersey that features “Angels” sewn across the chest in red, navy blue, white, and gray tackle twill. Pujols’ number “5” is sewn on the front and back in red and navy tackle twill. “Pujols” is sewn across the back shoulders in red and navy blue tackle twill. A vinyl MLB logo has been applied on the back outside collar. A circular Angels’ patch is sewn on the left sleeve, while an “A” logo is sewn on the right sleeve. A Majestic size “54” tag has been applied to the front left tail of the jersey. Pujols signed the “5” on the back in silver marker, adding the inscription “Game Used 2016”. This item comes with a Beckett STICKER ONLY (B54955) for the signature, and a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 822204), which authenticates game use to the September 16th contest.
