In 2016, four members of the Chicago Cubs infield, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, and Addison Russell, were selected to start the MLB All-Star Game in San Diego. The four infielders, along with All-Star Game starting outfielder Dexter Fowler, would go on to lead the Cubs to their first World Series victory in 108 years a few short months later. Bryant was named MVP of the National League, while Zobrist claimed World Series MVP honors.
Bryant, Rizzo, and Zobrist signed the left side of the sweet spot panel, while Russell signed the panel south of the sweet spot. All of the Cubs signed in blue pen. This ball is a Robert D. Manfred Official 2016 All-Star Game baseball. Its laces are blue and yellow, and the 2016 All-Star Game logo is also present.
