This baseball was used on October 2nd, 2016, during the last regular season game of David Ortiz’s historic career. The Red Sox fell 2-1 to the home Toronto Blue Jays in this game, with Hanley Ramirez’s solo home run the only offense the Sox could muster.
Ortiz ended his career with 541 home runs, hitting 38 in his final season. “Big Papi” was a part of three World Series winning Red Sox teams, earning him immortality with the franchise. This Robert D. Manfred Jr. Official Major League baseball shows excellent signs of use. A “David Ortiz Final Season” logo is present to the south of Manfred’s stamped signature. Ortiz signed the ball beneath his logo, adding the inscription “Game Used Final Game 10/02/16” in blue pen. This item comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 042382) and a Fanatics Authenticated hologram (ZZ0066267).
