Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz “Big Papi” spent his final season in the Majors in 2016 and helped lead the Red Sox to the American League Eastern Division title. Ortiz finished his brilliant career with 541 home runs and 38 of those came in his last hurrah. His 127 RBI led the American league. This navy size 7 5/8 New Era 59Fifty Boston Red Sox cap was worn by Ortiz during the May 6th game at Yankee Stadium. This hat features the raised “B” in red and white embroidery on the front the MLB logo embroidered in navy blue, white and red on the back. Ortiz’s number “34” is handwritten in black marker on the inside of the hat and Ortiz has signed this cap in silver marker on the outer brim. There is a strip of masking tape adhered to the underside of the brim that has “5/6/16” handwritten in blue marker. This cap shows light use and comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JB803226), which indicates this hat was last worn on May 6th at Yankee Stadium and that Ortiz signed this hat on August 12th and a Fanatics hologram (ZZ0052431).
