This was Big Papi’s last ever game at Yankee Stadium and the final time he faced the Yankees. The ball was pitched by Boston’s Junichi Tazawa in the bottom of the 7th to the Yankees’ Starlin Castro, who fouled it back to the screen. The Yankees won the game, 5-1; Ortiz, the designated hitter, was 0-for-1 with a walk in the game.
