This baseball was used during the 2,408th and final game of David Ortiz’s illustrious professional baseball career. The power hitting first baseman and designated hitter played his last regular season game on October 2nd, 2016, a 2-1 loss to the visiting Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park.

This Robert D. Manfred Jr. Official Major League baseball was pitched to Ortiz in the bottom of the fourth inning by Jays’ starter Aaron Sanchez. Ortiz signed the ball underneath the commemorative David Ortiz logo in blue pen. He added the inscription “Game Used 10/02/16 Final Game Pitch To” below his signature.
