New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius wore this special Father’s Day jersey during the New York Yankees 7-4 road loss to the Minnesota Twins. Although Gregorius went hitless at the plate, he supported his play with his typically excellent defensive work and hustle. The Amsterdam-born middle infielder had a terrific 2016 season, setting new career highs in home runs (20), RBI (70), and batting average (.276).
This button down, gray road jersey features “New York” sewn across the front in light blue and navy tackle twill. As a jersey used on the Father’s Day weekend, the numbers and accents are a special shade of blue. A blue ribbon patch with the MLB logo is sewn on the left chest area. Gregorius’ number “18” is sewn on the back of the jersey in light blue and navy tackle twill. An “8” patch, in remembrance of Yogi Berra, is sewn on the left sleeve. The sleeve openings are ringed in anthracite bands. A blue MLB logo is attached to the back outside collar. A Majestic size “46” tag is applied to the front left tail of the jersey. Gregorius signed the “8” digit on the back in silver marker, adding the inscription “Game Used” to his signature. This jersey comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B72548) for the signature and a LOA from Steiner Sports (243351) for game use. Additionally, this jersey is accompanied by a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 023727), which dates it to the June 19th game.
