Ichiro Suzuki collected the 3,000th hit of his Major League career during his Miami Marlins 10-7 win over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on August 7th, 2016. Ichiro recorded his milestone hit with a seventh inning triple off Rockies reliever Chris Rusin, scoring in the next at-bat on Jeff Mathis’ RBI single. Heading into the 2019 MLB season, the 45-year old Ichiro signed a minor league deal with the Seattle Mariners, looking to improve upon his 3,089 MLB hits. Between Japanese ball and the Majors, Ichiro entered 2019 with a staggering 4,367 base hits.

This offered Official Major League Robert D. Manfred Jr. baseball was used in the ninth inning of this Rockies-Marlins matchup. The ball was pitched by Fernando Rodney to Rockies second baseman DJ LeMahieu, who let the pitch go by for ball one.
